The ITC Project organized a new training for BSOs

The ITC Project “Linking Ukrainian SMEs in the Fruits and Vegetables Sector to Global and Domestic Markets and Value Chains” organized a new training for business support organizations.

The training “Developing a Strategic Business Support Organization Plan” took place in Odesa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry in late October and was conducted by ITC international consultant Miguel Camacho.

The training was attended by representatives of the associations of producers and processors of fruit and vegetable products, representatives of the Chambers of Commerce from Odesa, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, representatives of the Export Promotion Office and other partners of the ITC Project in Ukraine.

This is the second meeting in a series of trainings for Ukrainian BSOs to strengthen their capacity to develop a portfolio of value-added services. The first such event took place in June.

The purpose of this training is to give participants practical skills to develop new services that are in demand among private businesses.

The training program is not limited to classrooms and involves ongoing interaction with the project team to provide feedback, guidance and support to BSOs.

According to the head of the Ukrainian Agriculture Export Association Dmytro Kroshka, the training was useful and relevant, because participants were given practical skills to develop new services that would be in demand among private businesses. Theoretical and practical skills were developed to systematize existing (and introduce new) services to ensure the efficient export activity of Ukrainian agricultural exporters.

“As a result, we will be able to improve communication between management, members and partners, as well as improve their effectiveness. It was particularly important to model the activities of the association in Ukraine with similar associations in other countries, which effectively lobby and help develop their members. And also get an opportunity to implement their experience in the realities of Ukrainian business. We are grateful to the ITC Project and the Odesa Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organizing an interesting, relevant and useful event,” Dmytro Kroshka said.
