The Roadmap proposal was presented on January, 25 during an online meeting attended by over 40 participants – vine growers and winemakers, representatives of sector associations and unions, state officials, media and experts.

This strategic document was developed within the ITC project “Linking Ukrainian SMEs in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector to Global and Domestic Markets and Value Chains”.

Thanks to cooperation and commitment of stakeholders, the document was developed that reflects the realities that the private business, government agencies and trade facilitation organizations face.

International experts Marko Tiggelman (Netherlands) and Irina Bistritchi (Moldova) actively worked on the Roadmap. They managed to hold a series of meetings and consultations with Ukrainian winemakers, state bodies and local experts.

The Roadmap developed, covers an analysis of the current market situation with historical retrospectives, consumption and export statistics, results of the sector research in Ukraine and other countries, structure of major players, quality issues, supplies and more.

It describes the strategic opportunities for the development of Ukrainian winemaking and viticulture, as well as the difficulties that stand in the way.

In addition, experts provided recommendations and the Action Plan with priority goals until 2030. This Roadmap is a basic document that will require details and a work plan to be developed by the sector.

All are welcome to watch the recording of the Roadmap presentation on our YouTube channel.
The presentation by Irina Bistritchi is available on the project website in the ‘Documents’ section.
The full text of the Roadmap will be published on the website shortly after the final amendments are made.

During its second phase, the ITC project “Linking Ukrainian SMEs in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector to Global and Domestic Markets and Value Chains” seeks to promote small vine growing and winemaking in Ukraine along with supporting the fruit and vegetable sector. The project is funded by Sweden.
