UKRAINIAN EDIBLE NUTS HARVEST REVIEW 2021 AND MARKET UPDATE WEBINAR

Companies operating in the Ukrainian nut market took part in the online meeting to discuss the market situation and to present their production and export potential to the international buyers from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the UAE, India, France and Switzerland.

While opening the webinar, the Deputy Director of the Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office of Ukraine Andrii Remizov, stressed the importance of joint efforts of international projects, government and business in developing the potential of Ukrainian business abroad, including in the nut sector.

ITC International Consultant James Fitzpatrick made an overview of the edible nuts sector in Ukraine. He noted the strengths of producers and areas for growth.

The participants were talking about walnuts and hazelnuts, methods of their cultivation in Ukraine, qualitative and quantitative indicators.

President of the Ukrainian Nut Association Hennadii Yudin forecasted nut yield in Ukraine this season. He shared the plans of continuously increasing areas of commercial walnut orchards and commercial plantations of hazelnuts and almonds. Also, he spoke on the importance of certification for nut growers and processors, in particular, the increasing share of organic products.

Production Director of VOL-NAT Andrii Guk, Owner of FILBERT Maksym Sheiko, Head of Sales of UKR- WALNUT Ihor Dyachok and Sales Manager of AGRO TRADE LUBNY Irina Vailunova presented their companies, products and shared with foreign buyers their plans for the future.

During the webinar, ITC National Project Manager Alena Kolomoitseva introduced the second edition of the catalogue ‘Natural Quality: Edible Nuts from Ukraine’.

Buyers and investors have been invited to continue communication with Ukrainian nut growers and suppliers at the ITC collective stand at Anuga 2021 trade fair, scheduled in Cologne on 9 – 13 October 2021.
