A series of trainings for winemakers

Representatives of the vine and wine sector of Ukraine, vine-growers and winemakers, professional associations, consultants, scientists and lecturers are invited to join the training course on sustainable development of the winemaking sector organized by the ITC project.

The training course will consist of six modules and combine the theoretical part including the best approaches to applying the principles of sustainable development in viticulture and winemaking, and practical tasks to consolidate the learning process.

The training course will cover various aspects of sustainable development as defined in the resolution of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) to be a global approach in the scale of grape production and processing systems that combines the economic sustainability of structures and territories, obtaining quality products with due regard to the requirements of precision viticulture, risks related to the environment, product safety and consumer health, with the valorization of various aspects of historical, cultural, ecological heritage, and landscape.

Our key speaker Mr. Gheorghe Arpentin is the ITC International Consultant, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor, member of the Coordination Board (2014-2016), and later the Director of the National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV) of Moldova (2016-2020), President of the Union of Oenologists of Moldova (2007-2016), Founder and President of the Association of Small Wine Producers (2015-2016), the first President of the Association of Wine Producers with Protected Geographical Origin (IGP) “Valul lui Traian” (2011-2015). From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Arpentin was the President, and in 2021 he became the Vice-president of the Nutrition and Health Commission under the International Organisation of Vine and Wine. Today, he is the Director on Research, Development and Innovation at Purcari Winery and is developing his own vineyards IM Les terres noires srl (25 ha) in accordance with biodynamic principles.

The webinar series will be organized by the ITC project and supported by the Association of Gardeners, Grape Growers and Winemakers of Ukraine (UKRSADVINPROM) and the Association of Black Sea Wine Craft Producers.
