The first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the project

April 26, in Kherson Chamber of Commerce and Industry held the first meeting of the Supervisory Board of the project of the International Trade Center “Linking Ukrainian SMEs in the Fruits and Vegetables Sector to Global and Domestic Markets and Value Chains”.

The event was attended by the first secretary of the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine Daniel Grunwius, representative of the Export Promotion Office of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Tetyana Miskova, head of the Department for Agricultural Development of the Kherson Regional State Administration, representatives of Kherson and Mykolaiv Chambers of Commerce and Industry, President of the International Agro-Industrial Cluster “Ea .F.Tech +» Igor Bzhezitsky, as well as producers and processors of the southern regions. They discussed the ways of development of the fruit and vegetable sector, its competitiveness and ability to integrate into the global and domestic value chains.

Head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office of the International Trade Center Olena Butrimova, program coordinator Armen Zargaryan and National Project Manager Alyona Kolomoytseva presented a report on the 2016 results of the Project and the plan for the current year.

Speakers stressed the importance of conducted market research in the southern Ukraine, as well as training for business support organizations, which will promote the provision of quality services for small and medium-sized businesses, will help experienced producers and processors to reach markets, in Ukraine and EU.

Participants shared their experience with Fruit Logistica (Berlin, Germany), GulfFood (Dubai, UAE). The following exhibitions and trainings scheduled for 2017-2018 were announced. Participants announced opportunities for raising developing enterprises and exporting products by obtaining international certificates such as GLOBAL GAP, HACCP, etc.

“Producers and processors of the southern Ukraine are grateful to the ITC project, thanks to which the market research was conducted, various trainings, discussions and organized visits to exhibitions abroad. We hope that through further cooperation, training and consultations, we will be able to take part in exhibitions the next year and start exporting products to the EU markets,”, said Yuriy Bilichenko, director of the “Razdolne” company.
